Finding out about our class

To start our Finding Out unit we shared our favourite toys.

We talked about the different kinds of toys and we made a chart when we had sorted them.

Then we worked in groups to sort out our favourite ice ceam flavours.

Then we sorted out our favourite pets. We found out that some pets can go into the same group maybe because they are all birds, like chickens, budgies and penguins. (No one really has a penguin for a pet they just wish they could!)

We decided it is easier to compare our favourite pets when we put them in lines and make a graph.
We also made a pictograph of our eye colours. We could see which colour is the most common, also some other things you can read.

We are finding out lots about Room 1. It certainly is easy to see on our graphs.

  2. I agree that a penguin would be a great pet. They are pretty cute. Your graph work is very interesting. - Mr Harris

  3. Wow what wonderful Maths investigations!! Penguins are really cute but very smelly so they are not a great pet to keep inside. Mrs Horn

  4. What a fantastic investigation Rm1, I love the way you 'find out' and then 'sort out' and show all that information in graphs.
